USE OF DONATIONS

WWF Indonesia will ensure that the donation money is used towards activities listed in the previous post (see "Why Adopt a Rhino" post). This is done by implementing both internal audit (done by WWF Finance staff) and external audit (done by credible auditor outside WWF Indonesia). Donators can choose to receive these reports at the end of the year to find out if there is any discrepancies or misuse of the donation money.

This procedure has been done as a standard procedure for all WWF Indonesia's donors for each conservation activities. To find out more about WWF's conservation activities, you can visit http://www.wwf.or.id

Why Adopt A Rhino?????

There are numerous activities required to ensure the survival of Javan rhinos in the wild. These activities include:
1. Protection (Patrol)
2. Habitat management and optimalization
3. Research on Javan rhinos (biology, health, behaviour, distribution, etc)
4. Community Empowerment (to prevent local people from disturbing the rhinos)
5. Locating second habitat (for improving chance of reproduction)

Unfortunately, all these activities cost money. With current population of Javan Rhinos in Ujung Kulon, it takes approximately 100 million IDR to maintain one individual javan rhino.

By adopting the Javan rhino, you help reduce their burden by providing funds required to ensure their preservation; thus increasing the chance of survival of the critically endangered species.
